With a complete relaunch and the further development of the zeus® knurling tool product programme, Hommel + Keller focuses on supplying premium products and strengthens its market position as a premium supplier for knurling tools.
PREMIUM FEATURES FOR HIGH QUALITY PROFILES
In close cooperation with end-users and market specialist, all knurling tools have been consequently improved with regards to functionality, efficiency and process stability. All knurling tools have been redesigned with additional features providing decisive economical advantages and increased product value. The product line Form Knurling Tools now contains, in addition to the standard, alternative versions with a ClickPin® system. The ClickPin® system allows a faster and safer change of the knurling wheel. Up to now, in order to change the knurling wheel, the Allen set screw had to be unscrewed. With the new system the carbide pin can be easily pushed out by means of a spring catch, saving time and allowing for a change of the knurling wheel also in small machine spaces.

COST- EFFECTIVE: MODULAR PRODUCT CONCEPTS
The modular product concept has been applied to all tools suitable for swiss type autolathes. The basic tool holder (shank size 8 x 8 mm) can be easily converted with the different shank adaptors which are available for sizes 10 x 10 mm, 12 x 12 mm and 16 x 16 mm. A flexible and cost-effective use is thus possible.
NEW CUT KNURLING TOOL SERIES FOR EXCELLENT KNURLING PROFILES
The product series RF1, RF2 and RF3 have been completely redesigned. The product advantages lie mainly in the easier tool handling and the increased process stability: In order to reduce laborious setting of the tool, the zeus® cut knurling tools are now equipped with setting, positioning and scaling aids. Easily convertible, all tool series can be used for left- / and right-hand use. Setting spindles allow a precise setting of the cut knurling head and a fine adjustment for manufacturing high-quality knurling profiles.
POWDER METAL NEW PRODUCT STANDARD
A substantial product modification represents the change in the knurling wheels’ material. During the last year, the complete standard stock programme has been converted from HSS knurling wheels to powder metal (PM S 590) knurling wheels. Due to the material´s special characteristics, the knurling wheels’ lifetime can be substantially prolonged. Hommel + Keller has therefore changed over to Powder Metal as the basic stock material. The premium quality will hence be available at once.
TECHNOLOGY, APPLICATIONS AND PRODUCTS: NEW CATALOGUE AVAILABLE
The new catalogue underlines the premium product strategy for zeus® knurling tools: All tools have been tested with regards to their level of functionality, cost-effectiveness and userfriendliness. Only the best were included in the new tooling programme.
Apart from detailed information on product features, the catalogue contains many topics for optimizing knurling applications. A main focus was also placed on a clear differentiation between the different products in order to guide the user to the product most suitable for his application. A work piece example for each product series, providing exact processing parameters, draws the bow to the praxis.
