zeus News: AMB Stuttgart: New Cut Knurling Tool Series

The exhibition season enters the last round: On the AMB in Stuttgart the new tools series RF1-A and RF2-A will once more represent the main focus of our company presentation. Visitors can also find out more about the new developments in the field of heat treatment applications and PVD-coatings, presented by our affiliate companies.

Focus on modularity: New Cut Knurling Tools
Our programme for cut knurling tools is further extended with two new tool versions RF1-A and RF2-A.

Cut Knurling Tool RF1-A:  Easier  tool setting

The RF1-A series is applicable for cut knurling applications and the knurling profiles RAA / RGE.  A main application advantage is the simplified tool setting through a lock-in mechanism of the tool head at the correct starting position. The mechanism allows also a fast change from left to right by an easy turn of the modular tool head.  The very stable tool design was a main focus during the development stage of the series. Through the increased stability of the tool head, a vibration- free operation can increase the knurling wheels’ tool life.

Cut Knurling Tool RF2-A : Vertical- adjustment

The series is applicable for cut knurling applications from Ø 3 mm onwards. The tools have a vertically adjustable shank, which allows using the tool as a shank 20 as well as a 25.  The tool head is simply moved up and locked at the required shank position.

Big points for flexibility:

Flexibility is further guaranteed through the possibility of using the tools for right- / and left-hand turning machines. Furthermore, due to an increased use of difficult to machine materials, the tool series has been designed as compact as possible, but without loosing on stability.

Trendy Tool Design:

Both the RF1-A and RF2-A do not only stand out through their functional advantages, but also through the modern tool design, which underlines the new tooling era. The tool heads are chrom-plated, contrasting with the coating of the knurling wheel, which is not only a fashionable element. The TiAlCN PVD coating can be recommended for cut knurling applications, especially for knurling steels, brass/ and plastics.

Decorative Accent:

The affiliate company H+K Surface Technology GmbH also places emphasis on decorative product features. The patented nACo® PVD-coating, which is especially suitable for high-speed machining,  can provide a unique selling point for tooling manufacturers. The coating is characterised by an extreme heat and oxidation resistance and guarantees optimal tool life results under extreme conditions.

On the H+K company stand we can give you more detailed information about our product offerings for PVD coatings, knurling tools and heat treatments.
